The Arts are alive and well in RUSD Schools

The Riverside Unified School District believes a well-rounded education includes standards-based curriculum in the visual and performing arts. The District adopted the RUSD Arts Plan in 2008 to integrate arts education with other content standards so that the arts a key component of their education. Creative students can participate in visual arts classes, award-winning choir and band programs, orchestra programs, and outstanding theater programs. The District has partnered with community organizations such as Riverside Ballet Theatre, the Riverside Art Museum, Riverside Philharmonic, and the Gluck Foundation for the Arts to enrich students arts education experience. All five of the Districts comprehensive high schools offer a full array of arts programs and one of them — Ramona High School — has been designated as a Performing Arts Magnet School.
