The award-winning Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) is the 15th largest school district in California, serving nearly 42,000 students in 50 schools in Riverside. The District serves a large portion of the Riverside as well as the unincorporated areas of Highgrove and Woodcrest. The District is governed by a publicly elected Board of Education consisting of five members who serve five different trustee areas, and RUSD is led by Superintendent Dr. David Hansen.

RUSD boasts numerous programs for students growth and preparedness, including AVID elementary, middle and high school programs, International Baccalaureate programs, Dual language immersions schools, and a full S.T.E.M Academy. The district has also achieved awards locally and nationally, including 29 Distinguished Schools, 4 Blue Ribbon Schools, and a number of Golden Bell and Golden Ribbon schools. RUSD also employs national finalist for Counselor of the Year, and has schools that made the U.S. News and World Report’s “America’s Top High Schools” list and The Washington Post “Best High Schools in America” list. Riverside’s voters recently passed Measure O (with more than 70% of voters voting “yes”), which will bring well-deserved structural, landscape, technology and security improvements to all of our facilities.    50 School Facilities  Elementary Schools 7 Middle Schools 5 Comprehensive High Schools 7 Alternative Schools
