CDPH Weekly TESTING Mandate for Unvaccinated School Employees


COVID-19 Testing Header

The California Department of Public Health requires all California School personnel to be fully vaccinated by October 15. Employees who have not provided proof of full vaccination by October 1, must submit proof of negative COVID test results weekly, as described in detail below.


Weekly COVID-19 Testing

  • Grab an at-home rapid antigen test kit from your worksite (only 1 kit at a time).
  • Self-administer the rapid antigen test wherever and whenever.
  • Write your name, employee #, date, time of test on the test package (see example).
  • Take a picture of the test result and the packaging with the REQUIRED information.
  • Upload the image into your Informed K12 form by Thursday, BEFORE 4:30 PM.

Employees who have not provided proof of full vaccination and fail to provide test results

  • Employees who have not provided proof of full vaccination, and who fail to provide test results as required by the CDPH Health Order are not authorized to report to work and do not qualify for sick leave.
  • If evidence of a PCR/molecular or antigen test for COVID-19 is not provided by 4:30 pm each Thursday:
  • A permanent employee will be placed on unpaid leave, which causes a break in service with PERS and STRS.
  • A probationary employee may be dismissed from employment.
  • A substitute employee will have accounts deactivated and will not be able to accept positions.
  • A person working or volunteering in unpaid status will not be allowed to return to a school site, District office or other District facility.

Employees who tested positive for COVID19 in the last 90 days

  • Employees who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days are not required to test weekly until the 91st day after testing positive.
  • If this applies, contact Risk Management to provide positive COVID test results and coordinate the 90-day requirement.
  • Per CDPH, natural immunity or antibody tests do not exempt one from weekly testing.

You will receive an email from Informed K12 each Friday with a link to upload your test results for the upcoming week, for the following Thursday deadline.
