The Building Trades group is responsible for tenant improvement projects such as partitions, casework and cabinetry, windows and window treatments, doors and locks, roof repairs, and general repairs to and limited painting of walls and ceilings. Limited may be an understatement, every year we use at least 3,000 gallons of paint.
When there is a new portable classroom to `land,` Building Trades coordinates work that may include relocating sprinklers, connecting low voltage power, connecting fire and intruder alarms, and integrating the new classroom into the Districts energy management program.
Building Trades also manages the Work Control Center, a clearinghouse and scheduling operations that processes more than 30,000 work orders per year. Members of the Building Trades group service and maintain RUSD’s fleet of 180 vehicles.
