Special Programs Transfers

The window for submitting a Special Program application for the 2026-27 school year will begin November 1, 2025. Each Special Program has its specific deadline to submit an application. Please refer to the school site or Program Coordinator at the site for information and application process.

Core Knowledge Program (CK) Transfers

  • Programs are located at Adams Elementary, Bryant Elementary, and Franklin Elementary Schools.
  • CK Transfer application is obtained from and submitted to the school site.
  • If a student is accepted into the CK program, a completed CK transfer application will be forwarded to Pupil Services for processing.
  • Please refer to the school site for important information.

Dual Language Immersion Program (DLI) Transfers

  • Programs are located at Castle View Elementary, Fremont Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Longfellow Elementary School, Mountain View Elementary, Washington Elementary, Gage Middle School, Sierra Middle School, University Middle School, Poly High School, John W. North High School, and Ramona High School.
  • DLI applications are completed online and are accessible on the Dual Language Immersion Program website.
  • If student is accepted into the DLI program, a completed DLI transfer application will be forwarded to Pupil Services for processing.

Engineering Program Transfers (PLTW)

  • Engineering Program is located at Martin Luther King High School.
  • Engineering Program paperwork is obtained from and submitted to the Program Coordinator at the school site.
  • If the student is accepted into the Engineering Program, a completed Engineering Program transfer application will be forwarded to Pupil Services for processing.
  • Please refer to the school site for important information.

International Baccalaureate Program (IB) Transfers

  • Program is located at North High School.
  • IB Program paperwork is obtained from and submitted to the Program Coordinator the school site.
  • If student is accepted into the IB Program, a completed IB Program transfer form will be forwarded to Pupil Services for processing.
  • Please refer to the school site for important information. 

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics/STEM Academy Transfers

  • STEM Academy applications must be submitted directly to the school site.
  • If student is accepted into STEM Academy, a completed STEM Academy transfer form will be forwarded to Pupil Services for processing.
  • Please refer to the school website or office for important information.

Riverside Arts Magnet at Ramona High School

  • Program is located at Ramona High School.
  • Riverside Arts Magnet Program at Ramona High School transfer paperwork is obtained from and submitted to the school site.
  • If a student is accepted into the Riverside Arts Magnet Program at Ramona High School, a completed special program transfer form will be forwarded to Pupil Services for processing.
  • Please refer to the school site for important information.

Biomedical Science Transfers (PLTW)

  • Program is located at Arlington High School.
  • Biomedical Science Program paperwork is obtained from and submitted to the Coordinator of the program at the school site.
  • If a student is accepted into the Biomedical Science Program, a completed Biomedical Science Program transfer form will be forwarded to Pupil Services for processing.
  • Please refer to the Biomedical Science Program website for more information. 

Riverside Virtual School

  • Available for TK-12th grade students.
  • Intra-district and District of Choice transfer applications are to be submitted online during the Open Enrollment Transfer window via the Transfer website.
  • Inter-district transfer requests are to be submitted directly to the RUSD Pupil Services Department.
