Riverside Unified Golfer Wins First Individual Tournament Championship

Riverside Poly sophomore Grady Emerson captured his first high school tournament title at the 46th Homer Thomas Invitational at Victoria Club on April 6. 

Emerson posted a 2-under-par 70 to claim the individual championship, which was two shots better than the rest of the field. His scorecard included two birdies and no bogeys. 

​“I really made things a lot harder than they needed to be late but made some key putts down the stretch to bring home this win,” Emerson told The Press-Enterprise. “I’ve spent a lot of time working with a mental coach on trying to relieve pressure on shots and focus forward. That’s what allowed me to close it out.”
