Riverside Unified Softball Standout Named Inland Girls Athlete of the Week
Riverside Polytechnic High School senior Violet Espin has been named Inland Girls Athlete of the Week by the Southern California News Group (SCNG) on May 5, recognizing her outstanding performance on the field.
Espin delivered an outstanding performance at the plate, hitting two home runs and going 3-for-4 to help lead the Bears to an Ivy League championship-clinching win. The shortstop, who has signed with the University of Memphis, is batting .410 this season with nine home runs and a team-high 28 RBIs.
