District Mandated Parent Groups

District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)

DELAC is a district-level English Learner Advisory Committee comprised of parents, staff, and community members designated to advise district officials on English learner programs and services.

Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Advisory

The LCAP Parent Advisory is established to provide advice to the governing board and superintendent of the school district regarding the requirements of the Local Control Accountability Plan. It is comprised primarily of parents/guardians who represent the district's English Learner, Foster Youth, and Low Income students. In addition, the LCAP parent advisory provides diverse perspectives to make recommendations based on student, family, employee, and community feedback.

Special Education Community Advisory Committee (SPCAC)

The purpose of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is to advise the Riverside Unified School District Board of Education and the administrative and professional staffs of the unique requirements of individual students with exceptional needs. The CAC also serves as a resource for suggestions to the administration on how to further improve Special Education Services. The focus is on communication, public awareness, and support.

District African American Parent Advisory Council (DAAPAC)

Riverside Unified's District African American Parent Advisory Council (DAAPAC) is a model coalition of collaborative parents, students, and communities. RUSD's DAAPAC respects and embraces the diverse cultures of our communities, facilitates educational equity and improvements in academic outcomes, values varied forms of parent involvement to foster the healthy development of all students, and provides the tools and skills necessary for families to access information to purposefully participate in a rapidly changing world.

Somos Dual Language Immersion (DLI)

We are a support group made of parents, educators and administrators of the DLI program within Riverside Unified School District. Together, we have the ability to communicate solutions, discuss challenges, and create a unified program based on equality. As stakeholders, we have a chance to craft this DLI experience to be the most fulfilling environment for each of our children. Please join us, we meet monthly and we welcome your ideas, participation, and community.

Juntos, tenemos la capacidad de comunicar soluciones, discutir desafíos y crear un programa unificado basado en la igualdad. Native American Parent Advisory

The Native American Parent Advisory Council (NAPAC), established in 2023, acts as a liaison between Native American families, the Riverside Unified School District, and the broader community. NAPAC advocates for the educational success and cultural well-being of Native American students. Through collaboration, education, and empowerment, NAPAC's mission is to ensure that Native American students receive equitable support, thrive academically, and celebrate their cultural heritage within the educational system.

Riverside Council Parent Teacher Association (RCPTA)

The mission of the Riverside Council of PTAs is:

• To support and speak on behalf of children in schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children
• To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children
• To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools
