The RUSD Maintenance & Operations Depart held its annual Fall Picnic for employees, complete with slow cooked beef and hot links. The event is designed to show appreciation for a team that works behind the scenes to make sure all 50 schools function properly and are clean and safe for all students to learn.
“Our team has worked hard to deserve this,” said Director of M&O Ken Mueller, who pointed out that preparations for cooking the meat began two days prior. Two separate picnics are held – one for the early morning crew and a second for the late afternoon shift.
M&O consider this one of the many ways they ‘fill the buckets’ of
their employees - an initiative handed down from Superintendent Dr. David Hansen’s office to ensure that staff of the district is regularly shown appreciation for jobs well done.
Hansen, as well as Chief Academic Officer Lynn Carmen Day, Chief Business Officer Mays Kakish, Assistant Superintendent of Operations Sergio San Martin and other leaders dropped by the picnic to express their appreciation of the team.
