This is the image for the news article titled King Student Wins Prestigious Computing Award Congratulations to Martin Luther King High’s Carolyn Kong for being selected by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) as the 2018 Inland Empire Affiliate Winner for Aspirations in Computing.  This is a very prestigious award that will help Carolyn continue her academic and career interests in Computer Science.  Carolyn is the 2nd student in three years from King High School to be selected for this award.

Carolyn has been a star student in teacher Charles Anderson’s Game Design and AP Computer Sciences courses. She served as Vice-President and President of the Computer Club.  She has competed in several computer competitions and has earned two 1st Place Awards at the International Women’s Hackathon at Cal State San Marcos in 2015 and 2016. Carolyn has plans to major in computer science at UCLA. 

Carolyn will receive her award on Saturday, March 3rd at 10:00 am, at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California.
