Riverside Unified School District’s
Superintendent Dr. David Hansen and Cal Baptist University (CBU) President Ronald
L. Ellis signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to link students and
faculty members for the purposes of engaging in professional growth, advancing
innovative learning activities and connecting shared values in preparing young
people for successful college and career pursuits.
The agreement sets forth regular
meetings between the District and University in order to coordinate terms of
the pact, which include CBU allowing RUSD students and faculty the use of some
of its facilities, including laboratories, auditoriums and large classrooms. CBU
will also provide professional development to RUSD teachers in career fields
with academic disciplines and majors at CBU.
In return, RUSD agrees to promote
CBU programs and majors at District events, incorporating CBU in professional
development and grant partnership opportunities, and inviting CBU partners to
join presentations to the RUSD Board.
A signing ceremony was held at the
June 5, 2018 RUSD Board Meeting.
