Riverside Unified School District’s Board of Trustees will hold a joint board meeting with the Riverside Community College District (RCCD) Board of Trustees this Tuesday evening at RCC’s Hall of Fame building.
In order to foster cooperation and collaboration between RUSD and RCCD, the meeting will focus on discussing three key subjects:
•
Dual Enrollment in high school and community college to allow high school students to earn college credit in order to expedite their degree.
•
College and Career Access Pathways (or Career Technical Education), which are effectively mini internships for high school students.
•
Opportunities for a Middle College, which could be a possible joint facility between the school district and the community college district.
Just like any Board Meeting with either body, there will be an opportunity for public comment (although California’s Brown Act prevents either Board from responding to public comments directly). The meeting will conclude with Board member comments.
