Risk Management is comprised of four functional areas:
Employee Benefits - Benefits for active and retired employees, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, retiree plans, COBRA continuation, and various voluntary benefit programs such as disability, optional life insurance, and Flexible Spending Accounts.
Workers' Compensation - A safe working environment is our number one priority. However, should an accident or injury occur we want to ensure that our employees receive prompt effective medical treatment through the District's self-insured workers' compensation program.
Loss Control & Employee Safety - District staff works directly with sites and departments in identifying risks and correcting conditions that may pose a potential for injury or loss. The Safety Department provides consultation and assistance to all District departments in their efforts to provide a safe work environment through proper safety program materials, access to safety training resources, site inspections, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal agency regulations.
Property/Liability Insurances and Claims - Claims against the district must be filed through the Risk Management office. The District works diligently to investigate all claims to ensure that funds are not unnecessarily diverted away from student education.
